User report | "Digitalisation: the foundation for automation"
High variance and different batch sizes can cause many a contract manufacturer to panic – but not microart. The manufacturer of complex precision parts creates digital structures, which it combines with automated 5-axis machining centres from Hermle. The result: efficient milling with flexible capacity.

User Report | Milling and turning for the perfect ride
Thunderbike employs 160 people in the German town of Hamminkeln and offers exactly what the name suggests: Legendary Harley-Davidson motorbikes. In the beginning, everything was a bit more modest than the current building complex – including its own restaurant, the Roadhouse: Back in 1985, Andreas Bergerforth opened a 150 m² motorbike workshop called ‘Motorradschuppen’, where he repaired and optimised mainly Japanese bikes.
Product special: Machining centre C 42
The 5-axis benchmark among machining centres
3 axes in the tool, 2 axes in the workpiece
Flexibility through full automation: Pallet changer, handling systems or robot systems
Modified gantry design in mineral casting technology
Largest work area per installation area, ideal for large-volume components
Tailored to fit your application: Choose from an unparalleled pool of tables, tool spindles, drives, tool storage units, additional magazines and many useful options that leave almost nothing to be desired
